MIC Nordic is improving coverage in the Hallandsås Tunnel!
MIC Nordic has carried out the design, supply and installation of a radio communications system providing indoor coverage for mobile communications, Rakel, GSM-R and public mobile network operators.
The Swedish Transport Administration selected a radio solution designed to ensure uninterrupted communications, even if a base station fails. This redundancy means that neither the GSM-R train radio system nor the Rakel public safety network is affected by the loss of a single base station. In addition, the solution provides mobile coverage from all major operators through nine dedicated base stations along the tunnel.
