MIC Nordic wins collaboration project with Region Sörmland
MIC Nordic has won an assignment for robust indoor coverage and installation of UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for four hospitals in the Sörmland Region (Katrineholm, Nyköping, Eskilstuna and Karsudden Regional Hospital).
The region has stipulated that they must have full control over the network, and that they must also be prepared for the region's upcoming 5G system.
With MIC Nordic's solution, Region Sörmland takes a solid grip on all its wireless communications.
About the project and offered solution
“We have solid experience of larger projects with qualified services,” says Peter Thorander, project manager at MIC Nordic. “We have also carried out this type of project for hospitals in other regions and look forward to a good collaboration with Region Sörmland.”
– The solution for Region Sörmland is based on our knowledge, our way of working and our established routines. Everything has been thoroughly evaluated, tested and proven in existing operational systems with a high level of stability and maturity. Our solution minimizes risks and enables Region Sörmland to focus on its important core business.
The region's list of requirements included:
- quadband for MNO, Rakel and G2 for mission critical and full coverage for all four hospitals
- Built-in redundancy in multiple levels and independent of any external actor.
- option for all types of peripheral facilities such as health centers and public dental care
- private 5G option for the region's own network.
The assignment is carried out in a collaborative project with Axians and Eitech.
– This way we can best utilize our respective specialist knowledge in different areas. We design the indoor coverage and are responsible for the equipment, Axians is responsible for the construction and installation, and Eitech assists with the design of fiber and UPS.
– We have solid experience in larger projects with qualified services.
